Travel over time: a dive into the development of transport By Dhruv Shah On 22 December, 2021, Dhruv Shah, an eminent reporter, well-known in the transport realm, visited an exhibition called ‘Travel over the years’, held at the Sai Transport Museum, Ghatkopar, Mumbai. The artifacts were in chronological order, from the first vehicle ever made, horse-carriages, to modern-day modes of transport, like airplanes. Dhruv, due to his prominent personality, was given the privilege of riding some of the ancient and modern vehicles. The ancient modes of transport, such as chariots, were rudimentary, made for the sole purpose of traveling, overlooking comfort. Modern vehicles, such as electric cars, covered all the travel criteria, from speed to luxury. According to Dhruv, the most efficient and comfortable mode of transport was the airplane.
