Informal persuasive letter to convince your grandfather to gift you a mobile phone for your birthday

Dear Grandpa, 

I hope your medical condition has improved. Since my birthday is coming up, I thought I should tell you what I want as my present. A smartphone would be the perfect gift for me as it would help me with my academics and help me contact anyone immediately.

Firstly, a smartphone has several apps to aid with my education, like Byju’s. Once I finish studying a certain chapter, I can watch a video to summarize it and solve all of my doubts. In case I have a query with some question, I could call the respective subject teacher and have it explained instantly. As a fun way to learn, the internet has several websites which encourage learning by playing games to stimulate the interest in learners, such as me, a very efficient way to comprehend the topic, obviating the need for rote learning.

Secondly, as you know, I usually commute alone to all of my classes. Mom and Dad are constantly worried about me, staying restless until I return. If I have a smartphone, they could easily track me using GPS. Also, in the event of an emergency, I can contact anybody for help. In the cruel and harsh world, my safety is contingent upon any means of contact. 

So, Grandpa, considering the above benefits of owning a mobile phone, I hope you consider buying one for my birthday. Also, if you buy me a mobile phone, I promise to call you every day and cheer you up.
